    The only way this would have made sense was for her to take a gun out of her pocket and kill him in the last scene where they see each other in Venice. 
    Blume is a cheater, a rapist and a bullshit man being represented as a romantic figure “in love”, oh my, I couldn’t be more frustrated.

    Could have easily been 2 hours without all those chess montages. 
    (It’d still be pretty bad. Between all the things that was pretty bad or mediocre in this, the characterization was the worst.     This film is about everything: life, death, family, growing up, communication, loneliness, details of everyday life etc but more than anything it’s about the roots of trees being connected.
    It’s also about unexpressed love, expressed love and expressing love.
