A ranking of 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise*, which is the last vestige of idiosyncrasy in the superhero genre we'll get for a long, long time. Although the franchise going dormant for a few years feels apropos, its eventual future in the hands of the MCU feels more like an opportunity not to evolve, but totally devolve.
These films will always hold an important place in my heart, just because they've been formative in my life ever since I was a kid. Goodbye, my old friend. Mutant and proud, always and forever.
*The two Deadpool films don't count, since they're kinda too far removed. They stand fine on their own, anyway.
