Vincent Gallo is such a black hole of a human that the only time any of these characters ever show any joy or get a literal spotlight put on them is when he leaves the frame.
I think this might be the only vanity project I've ever seen where the movie itself knows that its creator is kinda full of shit? (It's kinda great, though! Bar that grossly homophobic scene at the head)
