ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT is a brutal telling of WW1, from a psychological perspective of the German soldiers.
Not enough know about how pointless, and how horrible the conditions of WW1 actually were.
This film does a good job in exploring exactly that, even if it is a little slow in places.
