1. AMERICAN CRIME STORY: NATALIE PORTMAN (very most likely) NOT WINNING AN OSCAR FOR THIS PERFORMANCE i love emma stone and i haven't seen elle but COME ON
2. this is flat out the best biopic i've ever seen....biopics are so often technically and narratively and thematically unremarkable to the point that the only thing notable about them is the fact that they're telling a True Story but this FILM was so thematically complex that i feel like i could write 17 essays on it (the interweaving of the explorations of deeply personal loss & the notions of legacy & history oh BOY that was well done), the script was outstanding (i've always preferred biopics that centre around a significant event rather than tell a cookie cutter childhood-to-grave story & this did that in such a nuanced and affecting way), and don't even get me started on That Cinematography or the SCORE
