A classy class comedy, rightfully a classic. I'm sorry for being glib, I really did love this movie.

But also, this is clearly a movie at war with that very instinct, and is deeply cynical about American class structures to the point of nihilism... I kind of love that.

The last thirty minutes are when it goes from being an entirely good fun film and becomes extraordinary.

There's a very clear way that this wants to be seen as optimistic…

This is an even more impenetrable con movie than Ocean's Twelve, but that's probably because I'm an Englishman with zero understanding of the NBA or the associated vocabulary. Credit where it's due that by the end you feel like you've finally caught up, and it's never boring because it's always great to watch confident actors act confidently about the professions of their characters.

What if Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, but underwater?

A movie made for 12-year olds, and the 12-year old inside of me.

Glows like the sun, brilliant and ferocious. Fixed to a place, transcending its definitive time. An utterly heartbreaking movie, about the lengths of love and the limits of empathy.
