I feel like people are kinda downplaying just how much this feels like a reboot of Superbad. Sure it doesn’t have any of the “zany cops” sideplot, and they replaced McLovin with a Malibu’s Most Wanted Teen and an unstable 30-year-old aioaska woman in a Coachella outfit, but otherwise it’s basically the same movie.
That being said, it’s very confident and charming and tightly paced, with great performances and funny writing throughout.
My biggest complaint would have to be the 550,000 Cool Popular Songs™️ on the soundtrack.
