LA. 1977. In the heart of the beginning of an era's end. Buddies solving mysteries near Christmas time is Shane Black's favorite story to tell and he has been telling it for decades now. The Nice Guys is his latest venture into the tale and it may be his most refined yet. Holland, Holly, and Healy are a wonderfully-developed trio who can make any mystery alluring as they're the ones investigating. The mystery is one that greatly benefits from its funky, hip setting and the powerful questions it provides regarding family and self-importance. A sweet ride that cruises well on its own despite some pesty killer bees chilling in the back.
P.S. Best Richard Nixon joke in all of cinema.
