Saw this on film at Harvard Film Archive and got to see Brooke Adams speak afterwards (and saw Tony Shalhoub afterwards!!!)
Beautiful film, my first Malick but I’m familiar enough with his work to say it was very Malick-y. Had the (mis?) fortune of sitting in the very front row for this. The voiceover made the film (and Brooke Adams said it was largely ad libbed, Malick just put a blanket over Manz and told her to describe what was going on in the movie?!) Great movie to watch as I’m finally getting help for my Old Testament obsessive thoughts.
Shout out to the young student who asked Brooke Adams a “question” that amounted to them being like, “I was picking up a lot of biblical vibes here…”
