It somehow propels itself into it's own hilariously dark insanity...

With bone dry gonzo humor, terrible acting, no budget, Disneyland, and violent sexual energy to keep it afloat, I'm surprise more people don't know about this videotape trashsterpiece.

If you're into bad movies, this is a fucking diamond in the mud.

    Blood for Dracula

It has your usual lesbian incest, blood vomit, limb amputations, virgin fuckery, attempted r@pe, actual r@pe, unnatural accents, and of course, Udo Kier's wonderful over-the-top acting.

Bram Stoker would've shit himself if he saw this. I can't wait to watch it again.

I feel like these films really wanted to be a mix between Ocean’s 11 and a Dark Knight film. The problem is that Steven Soderbergh and Christopher Nolan know what they’re doing, and have their own filmmaking style that they are masters at… this film just wants to disguise itself as having a style, when all it wants to be is something it’s not. I can’t take it seriously because it’s about Magicians, and I can’t laugh with the movie,…

Endlessly Creative. Magical. Cute. And everything in between. Audrey Tautou is insanely magnetic as Amélie. Funny enough, I haven’t been this mesmerized by an actress’s on-screen presence since Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I loved every minute of her character, which almost hindered the film, because every time she wasn’t in the scene, I just wanted her to come back. That being said, I probably would have given it 5 stars if there were less unnecessary scenes with some of the secondary characters. Other than that, It’s soooo fun and adorably optimistic about relationships and overall personal happiness. Maybe 5 stars on a rewatch.

    Oh boy...

    Controversial? sure.

    Pretentious? nah.

    Unique? yes.

    Intense? undeniably.

Scary? not the scary you're thinking of.

    Good? very.

Once you get the metaphor, the message is straight forward. But it doesn't bash you over the head with it (unlike what some people think). Aronofsky is just telling it as it is, through his own interpretation of the story. I think it's quite brilliant, the way he pulled it off.

I would like to Highly Recommend this film, but it…
