High off of the hype for Godzilla vs. Kong, let's revisit the OG King Kong...
It's really a technical marvel. Truly innovative special effects that mix stop-motion with rear-projection, and overlaying film on top of film. That's really the highlight of this film. The characters are fairly one note, and honestly not very likable. This is something Peter Jackson would completely change and fix in his King Kong remake. In this film there's no emotional attachment to Kong, so when his tragic end comes to be, I don't know if the audience is suppose to cheer or be saddened? But I also love that this film wasn't afraid to kill many people on screen. It probably was certainly the groundbreaking piece of entertainment for it's time.
I recommend checking out this classic if you get the chance to!
