Shachar’s review published on Letterboxd:
Several of my professors recommended The Flat to our class this semester. The film tells the story of a family who, when they begin clearing the flat of their deceased grandmother, find out that their family maintained connections with an SS officer both before and after the war.
The subject matter of the documentary interested me greatly, especially considering my historical interest lies in the Holocaust. I also found how each generation viewed the Holocaust, and questioning the past, in different ways. However, I think that the documentary could have been filmed a bit differently and the effect would have been stronger.
