Shea’s review published on Letterboxd:
The first “In the House” screening of the year, and quite the palette cleanser after Feig's Ghostbusters. John Carpenter’s action/fantasy/adventure/comedy is the perfect 80s flick, and it also holds up beautifully today. Kurt Russell oozes charisma, and plays a hilarious subversion of the tough action hero archetype seeing as he is actually pretty incompetent (though he redeems himself in the end). From start to finish, this is a huge amount of fun and I’m sure it will result in many rewatches over the years. I love how there is no concern with explaining things to the audience, so we’re just as confused as Jack Burton is.
