Stop Making Sense

Stop Making Sense ★★★★★

I feel like Talking Heads somehow managed to combine niche & accessibility into a wonderfully chaotic performance that's still very much structured; the way it builds up with only Byrne on stage, with the entire band and the backup singers gradually appearing as well and always upping the previous song with just a little bit more flair, is just an invigorating sight to behold. It's always reminded me of Pink Floyd's Live in Berlin and how they slowly built a real-life wall during the concert.

Also, you might be cool, but you'll never be David Byrne-swinging-on-a-lamp cool. Him kicking it off with - perhaps - the best rendition of Psycho Killer ever released, I can't imagine anyone disliking his energy & the way he delivered those chords.
