it takes a village to abuse one.”
i’m so glad a true story as vital and powerful as this one was told through film with such a great and convincing cast, and now i completely understand why it won the academy award for best picture back in 2016. it truly deserved it.
knowing that the catholic church still gets away with these horrendous crimes due to their abuse of power makes me sick, but it’s stories & films like these that reveal the truth and raise awareness, which is why they’re so important.
on a much lighter note, my mum is in love with mark ruffalo (so i knew i had to watch this with her) and there were so many moments where she would go on about how hot and cute he is and how she wanted to feed him. what a stan.
