Letterboxd — Your life in film

Breathtaking. There are very few times nowadays when I can watch something and truly say “I have never seen anything like this before,” and this is one. This is the queer cinema we deserve.

Heartbreaking stuff here, and a great finale to the best comedic show I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching.

Very haunting imagery, and excellently executed effects for 1960. Christiane served.

I’ve amended my score a bit but I also now think that all of the humans are annoying, with the most unfunny jokes of the movie. Cut out the humans entirely and the movie is probably a 5-star, but it’s still soooo soooo fun to watch!

this is actually an alright watch, but lets not kid ourselves and act like this is better than the icon that is The Haunted Mansion feat. Eddie Murphy. 

also, you have a budget THAT big and your CGI still looks like DOGSHIT??

Don’t kill me, I still like it. I’m stuck somewhere between a 6 or 7 out of 10. It keeps a lot of points for the set design, music, and acting from Margot and Ryan, BUT… upon a second watch, everything with Will Ferrell and Mattel was painful. A lot of plot points make no sense later on, but it’s so fun I don’t care about that as much… idk, there’s a LOT of fun points here but a second rewatch just reveals to me how much the writing of jokes and some plot needed tweaks and complete removals.

Seen in IMAX… hell yeah

Something that, in concept and in the trailer, I really didn’t think would work. This was a joy to watch.

I could rewatch this every day and it would never get old.

Fun and totally unique, I definitely understand why it won Best Picture because of this and Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan definitely deserved their oscars. 🥯
