edit to add that this is a much better movie if you watch hbo's chernobyl first.
it's no secret that Nolan has a majorly humanist philosophy heavily in favour of the power of not just man, but of the individual. this is to me his clearest and best film and exploration of this philosophy. you still have to swim through his other loves for complicated specificity and cheesy dialogue but I think his style is well-suited for the subject.
