Scream VI ★★★★★

And they did it again.

Radio Silence proves, for the second time, that Scream—Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s slasher franchise—is in good hands; they are more than capable of carrying on this franchise to new heights (quite literally).

What I particularly loved about this film was, despite it being larger in every sense than its predecessor, it felt very tight-focused; it didn’t feel too diffuse. More than that, this film was a mean, lean, killing machine. There was an unrelenting viciousness on display here that just wasn’t much in 5. Whereas the motive for 5 devolved into meta camp (and I still loved it), this went for something a bit more grounded, and timeless—like scream 2, “good old classic revenge”.
