Sorcerer ★★★★

A film in 2 halves, the first an entertaining anthology-esque introduction to 4 morally questionable characters and how they all chanced into the same impoverished location; and the second a brutal, suspenseful escapade with volatile explosives through dangerous terrain that is meticulously and deliberately paced, holding you firmly in its tight grip as it beats you senseless throughout. There is a very real sense of danger, that even as all the characters matter, any of them could blow up at any moment, or fall down the seemingly endless ravine. I cannot fathom how they shot those bridge sequences.
