Scream 2

Scream 2 ★★★★

Does exactly what a sequel to SCREAM should do in doubling down on the meta aspects (so much that the events of the first Scream are turned into a film called Stab) and handling Sidney’s PTSD in a very sympathetic light, all while amping up the set-pieces — Wes Craven’s ability to so easily make nearly any setting feel so claustrophobic is incredibly impressive — and being noticeably stronger formally and more balanced tonally. Even better than its predecessor.
