Jake’s review published on Letterboxd:
Michael Mann is now un-canceled.
Not only a perfect adaptation of the Thomas Harris novels, but a perfect bringing to life of one of my favorite fictional characters- Will Graham. Mann’s direction borders on being so good it feels inhuman, the acting from everyone involved is absolutely stellar, and the cinematography is just... oh.... it is just SO SO SOOOOOO good. The score and soundtrack FUCK, and the movie has an iron grip on its pacing like you wouldn’t believe.
Don’t sleep on this just because Anthony Hopkins isn’t in it. In fact it measures up to Silence of the Lambs in practically every way. This gets a HARD recommend from me. I am kicking myself for not having seen it sooner.
