Avatar: The Way of Water

Avatar: The Way of Water ★★★½

In creating a new world, James Cameron could have done anything.  He ended up with, basically, blue humans in a patriarchal society.  And, of course, the former human Jake Sully had to be the leader and the great military hero.   That kind of irked!  I liked that the Na’vi had a more symbiotic relationship with their planet and fellow creatures than we seem to have with the Earth, but it could have been a truly alien society.  Also, it took me more than half of the film to realise who Lo’ak reminded me of: an amalgamation of various Chris Lilley characters.  Other than that, the characterisation was very poor and it was difficult to distinguish between the characters.  I still didn’t know their names at the end of the film!
