There's a good film here but it's buried under all the things that I dislike about Baz Luhrmann's style. I don't think this needed to be as maximalist as this was, the editing was weird and felt way too fast paced and all over place while simultaneously it felt like it had gone on for way too long (almost three hours!) Austin Butler carried the movie and there is a lot about Elvis' life that is interesting and lends itself…
#39 - Watch a film with a spine #800-950
What a delightfully trippy film this was. Set on an alien planet where technologically advanced blue people called Draags dominate and domesticate humans, called "Oms" in the film. Wild Oms are seen as pests that must be exterminated and other Oms are kept as pets for entertainment. Obviously this movie comments on animal rights issues and how we view other species that we deem to be inferior to…

Overall a poorly executed and self indulgent film. There could have been something interesting here but it's just confused with poor directing and writing leading to incredibly forced acting and a plot that doesn't really go anywhere or have anything to say. Charlie Sheen pretty much just plays himself. Jason Schwartzman was kind of fun in it at least.
