This one is perplexing. On one hand, its upper echelon Friday the 13th. But on the other hand, it’s so unintentionally hilarious, that it’s hard not to laugh. The whole 3D thing just seems wrong, along with the techno-ish intro music. But on the plus side, it’s the last film to treat Jason as a man, not a monster. He gets hurt, he runs, and honestly, he shouldn’t have come back from the gnarly ax to the head wound, which is awesome as fuck. And this is where he acquires his famous hockey mask. This is arguably the most fun of the entire franchise. Oh, and it has maybe the best death ever. When the dude’s eye gets popped out of his head. It’s so bad, but so awesome.
