Skylar Travis’s review published on Letterboxd:
My wife, being the wuss that she is, recommended we watch a scary movie on Halloween night, but nothing too scary. So searching through Netflix, we found Scream. I remember seeing it came out. I was somewhere around 8 years old. We had rented it on pay-per-view, and recorded it on a VHS tape. Oh the good ol days. I had always liked horror movies as a kid. My parents didn’t shelter me from those types of films. Scream was a breath of fresh air for the slasher genre. It’s a brilliant deconstruction of said genre. So much fun. At times it’s a bit cheesy. But it has to be. I’ve always loved Scream. The sequels, not so much.
