really fun movie that does take a while to get going, but once Dourif gets to start doing his thing as Chucky everything clicks. Great effects work with Chucky too, especially some of the facial stuff I thought was really impressive. Some great setpieces, like Chucky in the car with the detective or Chucky vs Andy while he keeps falling over stuff in the operating room. the 4k from Scream Factory is gorgeous and sounds great, excited to dive into the Arrow set once it arrives. Can’t believe I had never seen this before

as a piece of Zodiac Killer lore it was destined I’d end up watching this eventually but feeling weird to report the killer does have some good taste, this movie is visually inventive and thoughtfully sound designed. amazing and hilarious performance from Leslie Banks as Zaroff, of course the movie is slightly contrived and takes a surprising amount of the 62 minute runtime to get to the hunt but overall this is absolutely a banger even divorced of the Z context, the sequence in the trophy room is insane. Was surprised how graphic that was. Fantastic opening and closing shots.

This is exactly what I had hoped this movie would be. Saw loops back on itself with a Gigli saw after a few questionable to be generous entries to course correct back to the basics of the franchise. Lucky us the basics of this franchise include self inflicted lobotomies and endless fake outs that still manage to surprise me on my now tenth go round with John Kramer and Amanda. Emotionally fulfilling and well acted (Shawnee Smith…
