Well, I can understand how you feel.
You worked hard...
And I suppose you feel you let everyone down
And you made a fool of yourself and everything.
But did you notice something, Charlie Brown?
The world didn't come to an end.
The older I get, the harder it hits. A cozy, existential fable with beautifully hand-drawn animation.
My absolute favorite kinds of movies are the unique and singular visions that someone is compelled to put out there, in spite of financial, technological, or experiential constraints. At the end of the day, a film made with heart can more than make up for a lot of shortcomings. (Ray Dennis Steckler is unironically one of my favorite directors of all time for these reasons.) Certainly, I am way more forgiving toward these kinds of privately-made personal projects. These movies…
