I haven't watched many documentaries, but this might just be my favourite and one that kept me invested throughout.
I've now started watching Pose because of this documentary, and I am loving it so far.

It's definitely better than Sixteen Candles and Some Kind Of Wonderful.
I think that there's so much personality in the soundtrack, costume and hair and makeup that adds to the characters and the world they are living in.
And there's not much as iconic in a John Hughes film as Duckie dancing and lip syncing to Otis Redding's Try a Little Tenderness.
The chemistry between the characters and the action were the best elements of the film. I LOVE Florence Pugh even more! The villain was a great threat, but he didnβt have much of an appearance and didnβt feel exciting enough in some moments. Also is it just me that thought the CGI in those final action sequences was a bit off?Β
Anyway, it is still an enjoyable MCU film. I love that it was directed by a woman, and had so many more female characters than male characters - which is rare in an MCU film, let alone an action film.
The pacing of this film is brilliant. To me, it definitely does not feel like the film is two hours long. The way it seamlessly transitions into a thriller is one of my favourite things about the film. It is directed and written really well, looking at the differences in class, and the hypocrisy and the ignorance of the upper classes. I appreciate the performances. I remember it being a great cinema experience and it was funnier than I expected.
