Annette ★★★½

I like Sparks, I like Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, I like LA, I like musicals. So I was very interested in whatever shape or form Annette would take.

There’s a good amount of Golden moments that I really enjoyed from Annette that had me arrested and filled with wonder and joy.

Leos Carax, on one hand, is relentless in his effort to make his production as impersonal and detached as possible with other moments ranging anywhere between boring, confusing, and frustrating.

When I vibed with it, I really vibed. When I didn’t, I really didn’t.
Nevertheless it’s a unique film, and I wouldn’t blame you if you dropped off after 15 minutes. And honestly that’s fine too.
