Matt The Snapper’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sorry guys, but I thought the film was just fine. Basically a bit of a self-indulgent film that while well-crafted in the filmmaking, is very Scorsese inspired to a fault that just doesn’t have that special ingredient that Taxi Driver and King of Comedy had (I did like De Niro in the film despite that). I admire it for trying something new for comic book films and I’m glad a lot of people love it. It’s just for me (especially after all the craziness surrounding the film) it’s a seen once, never need to see it again for me.
Joaquin gave one the best performances of the year though, that’s a fact.
