This is a 3 star movie at best if it wasn’t for the fantasy sequences stopping the whole movie. Had to bump it up one star for playing the studio version of Stairway as the exit music.
*It’s infinitely better than Bohemian Rhapsody, which is a low bar.
*Having the songs play in dream sequences works better than the usual “just play out the hits without forwarding the plot”
*This movie feels like a Broadway/Golden Age musical every time Elton’s songs play.
*Although the film didn’t get out of the usual “dark period” of musical biopic trope.
