  • The Kissing Booth

    The Kissing Booth

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

im writing this as adobe photoshop crashed for the bazillionth time and erased all my progrrss so i might be harsher than usual, but this oughtta be the worst movie i have ever ever ever seen ever. there are so many aspects about it that just make my insides curdle honestly but the most prominent is just the absolute toxic straightness of all of it. There was an attempt at making her be an independent female  throughout but it was…

  • The Perfect Date

    The Perfect Date

    it was okay.

  • Parasite

not saying anything about anything other than this is my new favorite movie. when i see it a second time ill write a real review

  • A Ghost Story

    A Ghost Story

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I’m not really sure about where to start  with this review or what I’d even really talk about but i feel like i should say something...... any day now..........
i think this movie was different  & im not just saying different to wash my hands of highlighting the good n bad qualities of the film  ... cuz i think it was deserving of some indulgence
i really enjoyed the shots n setting n overall idea, although it was vaguely reminiscent…

  • Rosemary's Baby

    Rosemary's Baby

poor fuckin rosemary man she did not deserve any of that LOLLL  i really liked this movie  lots  . i felt so disconcerted the whole time about everything but it wasnt ever directly in your face. her hallucination/dream sequences were done so well n i thought it was awesome
even though i was half asleep for most of it  i thought it did a great job of telling a story (although its a bit slow to start)  n it was just pretty freakin creepy man

  • Hereditary

i liked this movie wayyyyy more a second time around. i was able to pick up on some things i missed the first time  and i felt super excited about the parts i knew were coming up. the filming is amazing & gives me some major vibes. really had a lot of fun watching this tbh

  • Sorry to Bother You

    Sorry to Bother You

quirky filming and characters, i love everyones relationship with each other. nothing was super melodramatic even after the film prepared you for it. the whole movie felt like a double take.  love the satirical commentary on todays society. super funny and exciting to watch.
anything that seemed goofy or poorly executed was done with purpose (at least in my opinion) (like the “white voice” voiceover being absolutely unrealistic and poorly lip synced)
the cinematography was awesome as well, i loved the set design . character development and design was also astounding
i just had so much fun watching this  , def one to remember

  • The Conjuring 2

    The Conjuring 2

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

this was the funniest unintentionally funny horror movie ive ever seen in my entire life. i had a few solid jumps and it was definitely creepy but my god that was so goofy.
to be more serious about why im giving it a bad review, i felt like this movie did a bad job building substance on a few of the characters. i had no idea there even was a second son (johnny?) until the scene where he went into…

  • Midsommar

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

im just gonna ramble about this entire thing because i honestly have no solid opinion on this movie. i am completely torn between liking it and disliking it. this director has an obvious style for how to manhandle a creepy movie, in  which i can appreciate the consistency but i felt like it followed the same patterns as hereditary. i dont know if this is necessarily a bad thing, because i think its cool to have the directors flare that…

  • Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

the movie is excellent. its totally masterful with thematics between the color theory and pacing of the movie. its so easy to see why it influenced so many other movies of similar concepts.
one thing i particularly liked about this movie was the lighting. ive always enjoyed older films depiction of moonlight and night time in general (blotty stars, white light from one direction, stark silhouetting, etc), but this time it felt particularly appropriate for how unrealistic the night lighting…

  • Do the Right Thing

    Do the Right Thing

this hit me heavy . unforgettable.

  • Beetlejuice

this movie traumatized tf out of me when i was like 5 because kf the sand worm creature scene when she leaves the house and its nothing but sand. terrifying.  but anyways i think this movie goes hard. its hilarity combined with the disturbing and grotesque shots really drives home the 80s comedy/horror combo. has a lot of momentum and excitement
