I just simply couldn't get this film out of my head after my much long overdue rewatch last Saturday so I just had to see it again. In fact, this film has never left my mind because of everything from the fantastic soundtrack, the very quotable script, the mindblowing cinematography by A. Holender and the stellar performances by Voight and Hoffman are hard to forget. Even the smaller characters made lasting performances on me. Midnight Cowboy is, in my book, one of the absolute finest works coming out of the New Hollywood era of the American cinema.

    The Last Days of Disco

Stillman is old enough to know how the 80s looked, behaved and sounded (the dialogue) and The Last Days of Disco had none of it. The soundtrack was the only thing he mastered decently even though he forgot to add some post-disco tracks since this was supposed to portray the early 80s. Overall, even if they were few, it had some laughs but other than that it was kinda dull for being a film about disco.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been taken by a film like this.

    I Vitelloni

Fellini's I Vitelloni was certainly a surprise. I didn't, despite that I have enjoyed a lot of Fellini's other films, high expectations on I Vitelloni. Could a film about five (to be more exact; four) overgrown babies behaving badly be interesting? Well, it sure was and I think it's because of the great script, sharp directing, charismatic actors, and beautiful cinematography. Fellini is surely becoming one of my all-time favorite directors.
