Sofia’s review published on Letterboxd:
Who is it that is making a mockery of humanity? The devil, probably.
A film steeped in the swelling sense alienation, disillusionment. The lure of a logic of negation, the unshakable apathy, resignation, all spawning from contempt for civilisation. We see humanity as a pestilence, poison, infection. Visions seep in, unwavering confrontations of the destruction we breed through existing alone. A group, increasingly disillusioned, trundles passively in this world governed by insatiable greed, seeking a remedy for their apathy through pleasure, though this too dissolves into the pleasure of despair. There is a sense of cultural stagnation, the state of being entrenched in a society that stifles, enslaves. Here, inertia compels, and the tug of oblivion wars with the will to see change. It is a self-perpetuating struggle, a bitter statement on the miserable state of our world and our minds.
