Baumbach is so great at clever and quick dialogue that still feels authentic. There were several moments that felt free flowing and improvisational but in reality there were no improvised lines and Baumbachs script was just insanely detailed. I wasn't expecting to laugh as much as I did and I never thought I'd think that Greta Gerwig was charming and endearing.
There's something so nostalgic and entertaining about these kind of movies. The way they deliver every line so grandiosely always has me cracking up. I can only imagine seeing this in the cinema in 1963 and witnessing these crazy ass effects for the first time, I'm not gonna say that they hold up well but considering when this movie was made you gotta give some respect. Also I love how abruptly movies from period end like the conflict literally just got resolved and the credits roll a second after.
