Steve Robinson’s review published on Letterboxd:
One of the first 18 rated films I ever saw as a child younger than ten. I loved it then and I love it now. A great vision of the future that is quite similar to the one we see our world developing into now. It's satirical direction and script are excellent and it remains serious whilst keeping its tongue firmly in its cheek.
Weller is fantastic as Murphy and gives what could have been a very dull character (see new Robocop) into a 3d lovable character who you root for continually. One of the most quoted and quotable films surely of all time (next to Predator) and some fantastic practical visual effects that do hold up (toxic ridden mush man).
Why not five stars then? One word. Lewis. I never saw just how useless and terrible Lewis is as a character and acted. Takes away from every scene she is in. A great shame in a timeless classic.
