On the first watch I really liked this but if I’m being completely honest I didn’t fully grasp how it all comes together thematically. There is one plot point in particular that isn’t really connected to the main story of the film. It’s obviously thematically connected but I haven’t quite figured out exactly what Peele is saying on this first viewing besides the obvious points about nature and spectacle. But this is a really original film that takes the concept in some really interesting ways that I’ve never seen before.
