My professor painted this as super crazy so I kept expecting something truly wild to happen, but up until that ending... it didn’t fulfill my expectations. I think if I had had a different perception going in, I would have been more open to enjoyment.

What I loved about this was nearly everything. There were some incredibly smart and inventive directing, editing, and sound decisions, not to mention beautiful performances.
Mostly, I’m just so, so glad that somebody told this story. Women who work in strip clubs are so marginalized and objectified by the camera and it’s so sickening to watch that over and over. It made me so at peace and full of joy to watch a movie that celebrated and respected them. It…
