Synecdoche, New York

Synecdoche, New York ★★★★

The way Kaufman pays attention to detail is insane, I loved how as a viewer I felt that I was being lead through something meaningful. The process of time, how weeks and days and years are not measured the same was my favorite aspect. That is why this works perfectly as a film, because in a book or play or other medium, important absurdities like this would not hold the same weight. Feelings of hopelessness, despair, longing, melancholy... it has it all.

I don't know the meaning of life, or why we're all here. But I do know that I was sad, confused, and in awe for 2 hours today.
