a brilliant film from the hong kong director Wong Kar Wai. a journey to the underworld with the neon street view of modern hong kong with the stylishly beautiful cinematography and psychedelic original music, and the acting from Leo Lai as an emotionless and mysterious hitman. This work of art defined Wong Kar Wai’s future cinematic style. The visuals and the tragic romance plot made this film extremely sensational movie.

I rewatched this and i kinda forgot how amazing this film. This is one of the most overhated films just because its the most popular ”filmbrofilm” its actually visually pleasing and enjoyable film that has a lot to say about modern society and it’s directed with a lot of style and its extremely entertaining.
And i resonate with its messages and themes on a deeper level.

a surreal dreamlike depiction of the dehumanisation of man.
And it just blew me away…Not only is it one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen, but the dialogue is incredible. Martin Sheen’s performance as Capt Willard is mesmerizing.
