Super interesting idea for a movie, executed very well. Tense, intriguing and well acted. Good stuff!

  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

    ★½

Everybody shits on Indy 4 for the "nuking the fridge" scene but in Temple of Doom, Dr. Jones and the gang jump out of an airplane with a floatable raft, land on a snowy mountain, slide down the mountain and eventually catapult off the mountain into a river. Everybody is fine and the boat didn't even pop. This is an underrated, ludicrous way of survival.

    Also, this movie stinks.

Hailee Steinfeld is one of my favorite working actresses. I am hoping she doesn't get stuck in the MCU for the next decade because I think she's very talented. Obviously has nailed the angsty teenager role but she truly shines in these types of movies (and the criminally underrated and underseen Dickinson).

Bumblebee seems grounded in reality with an actual family story and that's why it's good. I like alot of those same aspects in the original but the comedy, the music, and JOHN CENA make this film a total success.

An emotional movie that knocked me out several times. Jake is phenomenal, Maslany was excellent and there’s a real spirit to the film that worked very well for me. There are family dynamics that rang true, the PTSD is as authentic as you will find. The whole thing was so raw, so real, so excellent.

Jake is giving it his all, the beats are there and there’s some good scenes but man, how melodramatic can you make a movie? It is ALOT in the opening 45 mins and the hits keep on coming throughout

Over the last year or so, I’ve had the chance to see four of Spielberg’s seminal works on the big screen through rereleases, reissues or fathom events. Jaws, Jurassic Park, ET and now Raiders. It’s so exhilarating to see masterworks in the theater.

I think this is the best opening scene in cinematic history.
Harrison Ford is so good looking, a true leading man.
    The movie is pure fun.
    Love Spielberg.

We are one conclusive chapter away from this being regarded as one of the greatest movie trilogies in history. I levitated out of the theater. See this in IMAX. Oh my god, I can’t believe what I saw.

Our most underutilized comedian in my opinion. Wanda is hysterical and always has been. The best comedians weave in social commentary in a compelling yet funny way. Wanda kills it here. Wonderful special.

I expected this to be one of those movies with all the funny bits in the trailer. Delighted to be laughing throughout and there’s an actual family story, not just Italian stereotypes. Lovely film.
