It took me three rewatches to truly appreciate this movie in all it's glory.
Your Name is one of the most unique and original films I've seen in recent years and I'd go as far as to say ever.
A romance told through body-swapping is very unconventional yet it's done here in a funny and extremely entertaining way.
They learned about each other and their life styles by living as them. Such an interesting concept.
"No matter the time, place, or situation, two people who are meant to be together, will always find each other..."
Other things to note: This features some of the best 2D animation I've ever seen in any film period. Gorgeous hand drawn sequences really makes this movie stand out especially that one seen that looked literally like a moving painting (being vague not to spoil)
Also music I mean omfg so good. The katawara Doki ost was so fucking incredible. The violin slowly invading the piano as the song went on really made me emotional...
This quickly became one of my favorite movies and one of my favorite animated films and opened me to a whole other medium of film I've never experienced before and for that I'm forever grateful.
Your Name is amazing and I highly recommend you check it out.
