Buffalo '66 ★★★★★

Gallo in this reminds me of Stallone in the first Rocky in that they both deliver very deeply felt, textured performances that time has since revealed to be like, maybe 10-15% acting. Some of the GOAT needledrops (King Crimson!!!) in this, and a lot of the rhythms/ideas here (the frame-within-a-frame flashbacks, the two spotlight sequences, and oh man that ending) really make this feel unlike anything else I’ve ever seen. This would get five stars on the back of that photo booth scene alone, astounding that this was a debut
