patrick m. orr’s review published on Letterboxd:
the fact that there are several points throughout the picture where the titular Eternals discuss events from the MCU like they’ve all just binge watched the fifty films that preceded them is… a little silly? very silly? however, the hour-long “getting the band back together” plot that brings back all of our favorite Eternals characters rules, i love the Eternals and all of their deeply explored unique character traits!
this was the first MCU flick i missed in theaters and… seeing it now on D+, it literally just exists to serve as a piece of fodder in the decaying argument of “blockbuster versus arthouse,” an argument that nobody but fans of these films seem to care about perpetuating. this was fine! pretty boring, pretty dry, pretty unremarkable! kinda like the rest of the MCU, weird!
