I don't understand why this is so acclaimed. for me it wasn't the language barrier that made it difficult for me to understand what was going on, it was that the plot was SO MESSY. they kept switching genres and some of the scenes were so unrealistic. like how did the sister's finger get CUT OFF with a pair of scissors? why was the main character's roommate unalarmed when she CHOMPED on her arm during sex and started bleeding profusely? i really don't see how people like this movie, and i'm saying that as someone who went into it with high expectations.
- pointless female nudity, but i suppose that's a given
- overuse of music and laser sound effects to the point it was actually obnoxious. the reason why the piano is so iconic is because it's literally played every ten minutes or less.
- characters had no background or anything interesting about them so i felt nothing when they died
- all michael does is just appear/disappear and breathe loudly. he's not the least bit scary, especially when…
