THIS is how you do a biopic. I, Tonya had me from start to finish. In twenty or thirty years, when Margot Robbie has built up a hefty catalog of performances, this will still be among the best. Allison Janney is unbelievable in it, too. And the thing it does better than other biopics is that it transcends the story and becomes a broader comment on America, fame, and talent. Most biopics, these days, just tell the story, as sterile as a news report. I wasn't a fan of the fourth wall breaking, but it didn't take away my enjoyment of the film on the rare occasions it did happen.
