The ending lost me a bit, but it was still an overwhelming piece of filmmaking. The way this film blends it’s editing and score to convey emotion is awe inducing. I felt everything Julie felt and then some. Renate Reinsve’s performance was authentic and relatable, carrying the film from chapter to chapter with ease and making me contemplate my own life as a good film should. Films that empower flawed characters and encourage living unapologetically are special and should be treasured, and this is without a doubt a special film.
