This has just about everything I want in a single movie. An intriguing main character, an additive and fully formed supporting character, innovative and highly stylistic editing reminiscent of Godard, the warmth that was present particularly in 90's era American indie films, a satirical look at the american spirit and fate often seen in the New Hollywood movement, subtly stunning cinematography, but most of all, it has tenderness in chaos, a dynamic which always does it for me. Not to mention those "freeze frames" at the end is some of the most creative stylistic choices I've seen in any independent film. This is essentially the American indie equivalent of Le Samouraï.
