The Safdies show great technical mastery in this carefully choreographed chaos. After seeing it a first time, I was just extremely impressed by their ability to navigate this hellscape of greed and status. After seeing it a second time my enthusiasm is a little more measured, and I still think I would prefer Good Time. Sandler's performance is good, but not incredible. Julia Fox is striking to say the least, with a performance that at times improves Sandler and conversely at other times her own performance is unfortunately impaired. Lopatin's soundtrack is simply stunning, constructing a sweet almost serene counterpoint to this crime-thriller that is sure to get the heart racing and the head spinning.
