I loved it but needed to piss the whole time which detracted from my experience as I spent the whole movie deciding on if or if not I should leave to piss but I didn't wanna squeeze between people to get there and come back again. Also the movies so damn good! Had no clue what happened but adored it nonetheless
This is the first film I’ve seen from John Cassavetes, and I loved this. The film explores mental illness (among many other themes and emotions) and the way loved ones and others can expect people to behave, hoping they’ll get “better” while things just get worse. Mabel’s husband keeps trying to paint a picture of everything being okay and perfect at home, but they both struggle with their own different problems, and they fight but try to love each other.…
Love how this film reflects quite a lot on how the cinema going experience is this beautiful thing which we all use to experience different things, all culminating under one roof full of silence, the only sound coming from the film.
Tsai Ming-liang captures this exceedingly well in a very unique and beautiful way, and at only 80 minutes, the film doesn't drag and allows the viewer to fully immerse in this emotional space of how each viewer is feeling…
